Bruce Brandt, a retired Navy Reserve Chief Petty Officer spent 42 years in active and reserve duties. His active duty was served aboard the USS Randolph (CVS-15) from February 1960 until May 1962.
He was on board the Randolph during the recovery of astronauts V. Grissom (fall of 1961) and John Glenn (Feb. 20,1962). Both astronauts were flown off the Randolph after their splash down recoveries.
