Mike Combs served on the USS Franklin CVA 42 from 1966-1968. His service included cruises to Southeast Asia, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean. Mike's rank was Machinist Mate 3rd Class, and his duties on board included aircraft elevator maintenance, all steering gear, and all lynches and cranes. He also ran utility boats in and out and did occasional fire fighting.
