The Voices of Giving Award recognizes individuals in the Greater Cincinnati area that have made a bequest or planned gift to a charitable organization. Bill Powell, owner of Wilson Art Stores, is being recognized for his generous support of CET.
The GCPGC event honoring these recipients will be held on June 18th at the Taft Museum of Art. The reception begins at 5:30 followed by an award ceremony beginning at 6:30. This week on CET Express, Barbara Kellar talks with Kathy Wade about the Kids, Cultures, Critters & Crafts Festival at the Cincinnati Zoo. Learning Through Art, Inc. will present their summer event, the Kids, Cultures, Critters & Crafts Festival on Friday, June 20, at the Cincinnati Zoo. Zoo admission is free from 12-9 p.m. Guests will enjoy entertainment-filled free bus rides on the Metro's Route 1, The Art Bus.
Kids of all ages can take part in face painting, strolling entertainment by the Amazing Portable Circus, Samba Band Parade, Duke Energy Books Alive! for Kids Celebrity Storytelling and the popular Kids Crafts Corner. The International Stage will feature entertainment for children and families, including ZUMBA!, the McGing Irish Dancers and Sogbety Diomande¹s West African Drum and Dance Company.

Marty Humes honored with the Charles Vaughan Award

CET honored Marty Humes for her volunteer work for the organization with the Charles W. Vaughan Award.
Marty's history of volunteerism inlcudes many Greater Cincinnati organizations. Also, she has served on the CET Board of Trustees since 2006 and in 2007 Humes took the lead in planning the "Live on CET!" event, one of CET's biggest fundraisers. The annual gala and auction fundraiser was a success for the station thanks to Humes' leadership.
The Vaughan Award was named in honor of Charles W. Vaughan, a past President and General Manager of CET, who was a true force in the Greater Cincinnati community and in the public television industry. The award is given to a person who demonstrates outstanding commitment to CET, longtime volunteer leadership, generosity of time and spirit, and a history of community service.
